Устройство для выполнения арифметических и логических операций. Первый ручной электронный калькулятор был выпущен в 1967 г. фирмой Texas Instruments. Различают калькуляторы специальные (например, шестнадцатеричный калькулятор, hex calculator), программируемые (programmable calculator) и непрограммируемые, бытовые и для научных расчётов (scientific calculator). По размерам калькуляторы делятся на настольные (desk calculator) и карманные (pocket calculator).
